Guar
Gum is a Natural Hydrocolloid (a substance that yields a gel with water)
obtained from the ground endosperm of the guar plant, Cyanmopsis
tetragonolobus belonging to the family Leguminosae. It is a
none digestable fiber with eight times the thickening power of
cornstarch. Guar gum will thicken without heat. Taking internally,
it will reduce the absorption of fats and carbohydrates.
Guar is mainly grown in
India and Pakistan from July to December. |
